I am planning on applying to UPenn in a few days, but am debating between putting govt. or international relations as my major. I am interested in both and would be happy studying either, but was wondering if I would have a better chance at admission for one over the other. Thoughts?
Don’t think it’s a huge deal what you put down for “intended major”. Some kids in my school put the weirdest majors as their “intended major” in hopes to increase their admissions chances but it didn’t make a difference; they all got deferred.
The only thing that might affect admissions chances is the specific school you are applying to (wharton vs CAS vs nursing vs SEAS)
thanks!!^
There may be some obscure departments looking for majors but then your activities would have to align with them or you’d risk your application entirely.
