So i got a mid 600's on the writing section the first time I took the test. I plan to retake in October, but since the colleges I am applying to don't require the writing section (and since I got a decent score anyway) should I just leave the whole section blank or just write, like, "I dont care" or something. Would that affect my grade in any way besides the obvious 0 on writing?

Why would you do that...

Umm you wouldnt really get a 0 you would get a 200, but like...WHY? Would you want something like that

that's a stupid thing to do. just because they don't require the writing section doesn't mean they won't see it. It'll make you stand out . . . in a bad way. They'll wonder why you got a 0 and take it as laziness and a lack of effort.

It's not a good idea at all. Like ^ said, they will see the 200 and get a bad impression. Just do the section and hope for the best..besides, what have you got to loose?

so he can do other sections during writing sections...DUH

well you're kinda stuck there for the testing time, so why not at least try? and who knows, you may score higher

Just because a college says they don't consider the writing section deosn't mean they don't look at it. Often, colleges use these scores for research purposes. If you get a 200, heads will be raised. And that's a bad thing for you.

No that's not true. I already took the writing section like I said. The colleges will only see the highest score, so they won't even know about this. Also, can I go on to other sections during the writing part or do I have to wait?

Well actually, the college board sends in ALL scores when it gives out its official score report. Even though you might just have to write hte highest ones on the app, the college see all of them. It's up to them to care about the lower scores (most often, they don't. i believe for cases like these- they will)

If you get caught doing other sections during the writing part, your test will be invalidated.

yeah, I know a kid whose test was canceled and was kicked out of the test room because he was doing section 3 when the rest of us were doing section 4.

In that case I'll just take the damned section

sad...I only really wanted to bump up my math score...guess I have to take the whole thing. They should let retakes choose if they want to do every section and pay less if not...

you mean pay MORE...because if they do that then thats a TOTAL loss of money to CB because they are losing it both ways A. The number of retakes Will decrease (because the number of people happy with their scores will increase) and B. The Cost for retakig would decrease ..

And CB doesnt want that..They want $$$$$$ ;)

but idc about cb. they can go shove those scores up there a-holes

edit: JK CB I LOVE YOU. I WANT TO MARRY YOU. PLZ DONT BELIEVE THAT.

The CB is sending out their gold robots to kill you now.

but i repent!

CB is now tracking you down like an angry ex.

why cant we all just be friends

you're paying for it, might as well take it.
