So I have to leave class early this week and I was wondering what the etiquette about this situation is. The class if from 11-1215 and I have to leave at 11:30; we have quizzes at the beginning of class so I can't skip the whole thing. Should I just email the teacher in advance saying I have to leave early? It's also a small class so I can't sneak out. I just feel weird emailing the professor because you never know if a professor will be cool with something like that or not. Thanks!

I'd say go ahead an email them. Assuming you have a good reason, the prof is unlikley to mind, and they will appriciate the warning.

I'd just go up and say something right before class about it.

I'd email the prof first. He most likely won't mind.

Talk to prof first. Sit near exit so as not to disturb class on day you leave.
