I don't know about you guys, but possibly the most exciting part of this transfer thing is never ever having to see my junior college again! YAY! I hate that place and often imagine what it would be like to burn it down. It'll be so wonderful to leave all of those douche bag high school kids behind. No more ridiculous references to "The Matrix" in discussions, no more of my time waisted by teachers having to constantly repeat things. But best of all, I'll get to learn NEW stuff, not the same old s*** they teach over and over in lower division classes. HELL YEA!!!!!!!!

I feel the exact same way! All the kids at my CC have no goals in life. They are just going to college because their parents told them to. They don't want to learn.

Haha, squarepeg, I've had to watch the Matrix in at least two of my classes. Lame.

It'll be so nice when teachers don't have to yell at kids for talking and repeat things a million times because they were. It'll be SO nice to not have to push our desks together and do group work. I'll miss the ease though, for sure.

"I hate that place and often imagine what it would be like to burn it down."

haha i hear ya.

hahaha you remind me of that fat black guy in harold and kumar... "sometimes, i just want to burn this MFer down"

"No more ridiculous references to "The Matrix" in discussions, no more of my time waisted by teachers having to constantly repeat things. But best of all, I'll get to learn NEW stuff, not the same old s*** they teach over and over in lower division classes."

Hahah, are you so sure some of that is going to change?

"there is no spoon"

i would say the most exciting thing for me as far as getting out of CC is telling people I go to a real university instead of, "I go to OCC". I swear, I HATE THAT!

I still need to stuck in lower division course after transfer:(

I love my cc; The professors I met there are simply incredible. I went from playing 80 hours of warcraft 3 every week in high school to being a strong student in cc.

but you don't own noobs anymore.

hahahahahaha

I like my cc but I can't wait till i am at a 4 year univeristy!!!!!!!

I look forward to never seeing my cc again, but I take with me a tremendous appreciation of it giving me a second chance at life.

^^ Agreed.

"but you don't own noobs anymore."

DOOD THATS THE ONLY THING THAT SCARES ME GOING TO A 4 YEAR and then its like TOTAL DOMINATION and then i get totally owned...

93 percent curves?! -kill- me. i just hope i get IN!

Totally Willdo!

I don't think so though... without it, I would not have a great chance to transfer first of all. Plus, personally, I have met so many wonderful professors who are willing to help me as much as they could; I still visit some of them even after I finish the courses. Also note that many of my math professors and physics professors I have registered courses for are UCLA graduates. In particular, I remembered that my multivariable-calculus math professor told me about his experiences in UCLA and he also managed to graduate with straight 4.0. in math major.

I have taken various subjects that my CCC offer so I have chance to see how is it feel like to be another major and I give respect to other majors as well. They have offered me Honors at Entrance scholarship when I just entered in my first semester so it is a great encouragement and hopefully I will be graduating soon with honors too in my CCC.

Initially I thought I would meet dumb students in my CCC but when I started taking class in my courses especially math courses (calculus) and physics, I have met many smart students; some of them are just geniuses. Last year, there was one student transffering to Cal-Tech and many went to UCs. This year, I and more than 5 of my friends in which some of them are normally taking same math or physics courses with me got in many UCs already; we are still waiting for UCLA and UCB, however.

I will definitely miss it.

May be everyone has different view about their experiences in CCC but to me, it is a 2 wonderful years of studying in my CCC.

Actually, if you're taking the higer level classes like calc-based physics, linear algebra, diff. eq.'s, etc at your CC, it's almost like being at a school within the school. The students are WAY better and far more interested than in the other classes.

My physics teacher at my CC, for example, actually got his masters in physics from Yale. He's willing to go in depth into things and go off on tangents if you're up for it (and you better be ready, because he'll throw the whole kitchen sink at you!! lol). It's been great.

So I'll miss my CC.

I used to be an over-achiever in high school - took some 10 AP/Honor classes, was the ASB treasurer, voted "nicest in class," served as the president of several clubs, crowned homecoming princess...I NEVER thought I'd go to a CC. Long story short, I was shafted thanks to Mr. Davis (governor) and my alien status here. It was very humbling to join the delinquents of my class while my close friends moved to the biggest, baddest educational institutions of this country. When I first started at my CC, I could NOT wait to get out. But I got involved in various school activities/programs, and now I have mixed feelings about leaving. I'm really bittersweet about it. I'm thankful for the past 2 years, and WillDO is right - I owe my CC for the second chance it has given me.

On the contrary, I'll no longer be embarrassed about where I study (although I have realized CCs aren't just full of rejects - some qualified students just can't afford to transfer), and I have earned my parents BRAGGING RIGHTS!!! They've been (more or less) the laughing stock among their (KOREAN >:) friends, but they've supported me through and through, and I love them for loving me.
