leaving nyu for....? give me reccs please.

hey all,

i'm a sophomore at nyu in the gsp program (basically an extension of the regular CAS program for nj/new york/cali students who did not apply early decision - nyu's main goal being to make more $$ without raising cas' admission rate).

i'm looking for something east/west coast with good financial aid for transfers ($$$ is the reason i am leaving nyu) and that will also prove to be challenging. i'm thinking of a political science/philosophy major and a double major in psych.

stats:

SATs- 1310, writing 700
SAT ii- french 530 (ha), lit 710
rank- like 13% (34 out of 259)
ap's- enviro sci. 3, lit 4
gpa- high school - 3.85 uw, college 3.71

honors- dean's list, french honor society, national society of hs scholars
work exp- office assistant at nyu, internship writing/editing documentaries, internship researching art events, created my own business in hs

e.c.'s- writing/directing/editing a documentary about political apathy, assistant coordinator of nyu charity group, participate in discussions at political bookstore every week, politics club, marketing director of web design club, won an art contest in shojobeat magazine, etc

and i am pretty damn good at writing essays. for the record.
going to have a recc from a teacher who will be featured in my upcoming film.

where should i apply? or should i stick with nj state schools since they will be basically paying me to go there? i'm willing to take out some loans, but because of the financial crisis, there will be much less govt $ available next year and i might not get as many loans.

Unfortunately, there is not much in the way of financial aid for transfer students in your situation. Best to look into New Jersey state schools.
