Leaving school early.

I am in a predicament. In order to maintain my grade in a certain class, I'll have to skip about three hours tomorrow.

Will a forged note be enough? Will the school call my parents to double check that my reason is legit? Does protocol vary from school to school?

If it makes a difference, my appearance/reputation definitely won't arouse suspicion. Also, since it's about 5 degrees where I live, not many kids will be skipping class for fun.

It depends on your school.

ok. but generally, do schools call home?

Most schools call home if you don't have a note. Some schools only call the homes of students who skipped/weren't at first period, but others call for every period.

You should be fine with a note.

My school doesn't. They only call if you miss first period.

my school calls for every period.

mj, will your parents seriously not write you a note? why not?

My school doesn't call even if we miss 1 month of school.

ask around at your high school. I'm sure there are plenty of people that will know how to get around getting out of class without getting in trouble.

Some of my friends have had success with showing up to class and claiming a headache, then going to "lie down" in the nurses' office. (We do have to sign in to the nurses' office, but they've got beds behind a divider and the nurses don't check on you, so it's possible to do homework if you need to.) Depending on how your nurse works and what it is you need to do, that may work for you. There's also the option of actually faking sick.

(Not that I have ever done any of these. cough)

it all depends on the school mj, so you'll have to ask some of your classmates

People do it all the time, and I'm pretty sure they don't get caught. In my school, if you miss a day, no one will really care. If you really want to maintain your grade that badly, then skip.

I had a temper tantrum and was able to leave school early

(it works better if you're officially diagnosed with asperger's syndrome)

But it was not an artificial one. People might be able to see through it
