Hey, I wanted to know what's the deal with leaving self-reported boxes blank. I've done the SAT twice but got rather low scores, which I wish to improve in January. Now I know everyone says they consider only my highest scores, but I think they'll still be prejudiced if they see my two low scores (1740 and 1860). The same with SAT II, I got chem 680, math I 720 and math II 680, but I'd like to hide them from schools that dont want to see my subject tests.
So in the boxes I have right now only IB exams, which I will take in May. Or should I leave those blank as well?
After all, what matters are the official scores sent by collegeboard, right?

And finally, in order to let them now of my January scores, I was thinking of writing in the additional information area smth like "My highest SAT I scores are yet to come in January". You think it's OK or it'll sound too egoistic or optimistic or smth? :D

Not sure if it’s a big deal or not to omit information, but about the “My highest SAT I scores are yet to come”, idk…it sounds a little childish, but that’s just my opinion. I honestly don’t know how far into the app reading process they are by Feb (when the Jan scores would arrive) but I doubt they’re very far. I don’t think they even send out likely letters that early, so I don’t that’s even necessary. They’ve probably barely looked at your file by then.

Well, I’ve contacted the institutions. Many of them said that it depends on how far they are by then, so the January scores may or may not make a difference…

Yeah I wrestled with the same issue last year. I ended up just putting down the information. I didn’t want to seem like I was with-holding anything. Also, I remember WashU saying that a computer program just automatically submitted the highest score to the Adcom. So, once your update comes from CB with your higher score, that’s probably all they’ll look at. (Assuming other schools have a similar system).

Another related question just popped up: if an institution’s score use practice is listed as “All SAT Scores Required For Review”, does it mean I also have to send all SATII scores, or can I only send the best two? (None of the colleges I’m applying to requires 3 subject tests, altought I’ve taken 3)

The description is: “<university x=”“> has indicated that it considers all SAT scores in its
review process and requires that you submit all SAT scores from all
test dates” </university>

So does anyone know, can I hide 1 subject score from those who have this policy but require 2 subject tests?
