Lecs and Recs

If there are 2 lectures for a course and each lecture has different recitations under them, do you have to register for the corresponding rec for the lecture or can you mix and match?

I don’t believe you can mix and match. If there are two diff lectures, each group of rec’s corresponds to those lectures[sometimes they fall into different paces].

If you are more specific with the class, I may be more help. I know that for Orgo[Molander], you could show up to any/multiple rec. from either of the sections he taught last year as a random example.

Well I could mix and match a few lecs but maybe for Math 114… People say to put the recs first because they are harder to get into so let’s say you get into the rec and then no lec… do you then have to drop your rec and try to find a new combo?

bump 10 char

You should have no problem getting the lecture, especially if you get the rec. The recitations are what fill up[even to the point that I have seen lecture space open but no recitations–which is weird because the totals are suppose to add up, people save the rec space even if they don’t officially enroll in the lecture].

So basically, put the rec first and stick any lectures at the end of your course requests[this is what I have done in the past].

Good luck with everything[and sorry for the delayed response].

Make sure you list whatever has the credit first (e.g. if the recitation is worth 1.0CU and the lecture is worth 0.0CU, list, the recitation first) Otherwise the computer system can mess up your registrations.
