I am wondering if it is possible to take a physics lecture course at one community college and the lab at another one. One college only offers 2 lecture classes, and the other one only offers one. For registering you must be in the lab class to get into the lecture, and at one the lab weight list is only 6, so it is a high probability of getting into the lecture, however for the CC closest to me I'm 18th, so I may get into the lab. I ask because the lab at the other college is not compatible with my schedule but the lecture is, whereas at the college closest to me the lab can work into my schedule.
Have any of you attempted anything similar?

This does not sound like a good idea. Even if the Physics course at both colleges has the same overall content, it is highly unlikely that they will be covering the same topic at the same time. Therefore, the lab at one school may be addressing a different topic than that being addressed in the lecture at the other school. At my community college, instructors take care to integrate the lecture with the lab so that the learning in one reinforces the learning in the other. I also suspect that they will not let you enroll in the lab without the associated lecture.

The only way this could possibly work is if the same instructor taught the Physics course at both colleges. Otherwise, put yourself on the wait lists at both colleges and see if you get into the whole (lecture + lab) course at one institution.
