Lecture or discussion?

what is the difference again? which is better?

You need to have both.

Sometimes discussions are linked with particular lectures (i.e., if you have the 3:00 lecture on TTh, then you must have the 5:00 discussion on F). Sometimes they are not (i.e., if you have the 3:00 lecture on TTh, you can choose any of discussion sections).

What about TU (tutorials)? do we have to go to those?

TU is Tuesday i believe. Usually if the class only meets one day out of the week, it is a discussion class.

TU=tutorial according to the code guide. It is listed in a row under the lecture times

what class is it for?

for many classes in biology and chemistry (lower div), we have lecture and "recitation." Does anyone know that recitation is (separate from discussion)?

its just another name for discussion, same thing.

yeah TU is for tutorial chipsahuy...geez and you call yourself a 3rd year, what a noob

what exactly is tutorial in regards to classes then bbvortex??

i have no idea =D...i just know that they are associated with most language classes...so i'm assuming most of it is optional...but we'll find out this upcoming quarter
