GUYS I JUST GOT NOTIFIED!!! I’M SO HAPPY! That’s what I was thinking because the way they phrased it seems that way.
I just got my acceptance letter I was so worried. #:-S
I got my acceptance email a few minutes ago! I am so excited right now. I meant the essays when I said I was nervous because in one of them I mentioned that the professor of my leadership class called me a dictator. I said it because I wanted to be honest but I was worried that they would not like me because of it. Does anybody know the percentage of people who get past part II?
I actually think that was good you mentioned your views of being a leader were someone’s views of dictatorship. When you think about it, being a dictator is being a leader. It just has a negative connotation. It’s the fact you reflected on it is what appealed to them maybe. I mean that’s just my perspective since I didn’t actually read your essay. Congrats!
Also, I think round one really filtered out people considering I think round two is basically about proof of citizenship and income. I think the updated transcript is to just to see if you’re able to keep up in classes and the test score is to get context of what this cohorts average score is maybe. I don’t really think they focus on the test scores because you work on those throughout the summer.
Still no one has gotten a rejection letter? I’m so worried
I’m so worried :-S I keep checking my email every few minutes
My fluidreview was unlocked already so I guess if yours is unlocked, then maybe you were rejected
Hi guys I just got into the second round of Leda however I don’t know if my parents income will affect this, is 58000 alot for a family of 7?
I think you’re good. I put your info into this: http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/12/09/are-you-in-the-american-middle-class/ and it said that according to your household income and the number of members in your household, you’re lower middle class.
Hey guys! My name’s Mason (add me on Twittter @eggytrash) and I’m a Cohort 11 Scholar! I really have to say that LEDA changed my life. I discovered myself, made amazing lifelong friends, and got accepted into my top pick university (pton '20 represent). All in all, LEDA is an amazing program, and if you have ANY questions, feel free to ask me! Also, y’all REALLY need to stop saying whether you got accepted, rejected, etc. I understand you’re excited, but think of other people…
Apparently my family is in the middle middle class. Though the calculator doesn’t really consider all factors. Like how much a person needs to spend on gas if he or she commutes. Or how much a person is in debt. Or like what if someone inherited a bunch of money? I would take the analysis of the website with a grain of salt, tbh. Though if you only want to analyze income and members in the household, then it is accurate enough.
Do you know what percentage of applicants make it into part II and then the percent of those who got into part II who make it into the program?
No clue. They don’t tell you those statistics. I think last year had about a 12% acceptance rate, though.
How much freedom does the program have? Like if I wanted to go on a run early in the morning before breakfast, would I be able to do so?
You have two hours. You have to sign out and sign back in. The earliest is 6 and you have to be back by (I think) at 10 PM on weekdays and 11 PM on weekends. I can’t remember the specifics, though. There is a curfew and stuff, too. I enjoyed it, though. I never felt rushed, but some other scholars did.
How was the interview like?
@shanabanana1 Gongrats btw! I was worried about my essays that I wouldnt stand out as much. So I went crazy when ever I got the acceptance letter.
Yeah how are the interviews like?
Is the interview as grilling as a job interview?
Yeah the essays were the most worrying part. I finished everything but the essays a month before the due date but didn’t finish the essays until the day the application was due. It’s really hard to write about oneself.
