Does taking AP and HN courses help when getting into LEDA
@Visionary7 I would assume so. I don’t think you’ll get penalized if there aren’t a lot of AP classes offered at your school, but I might be wrong. LEDA is gonna want to see that we are hard workers and taking the MOST rigorous courses would show that. Remember that even though it is holistic it is very selective.
DISCLAIMER: I’m not really sure whether academics or your personal conditions are weighed more during admissions, I’m just telling you what I’ve picked up from researching LEDA and other holistic programs.
OMG!! Am going crazy! Does anyone know if we will hear back first thing February or will it be later on in the month?? :-SS
I was wondering about that too
What is the average GPA for students that get into LEDA
@Visionary7 I’m pretty sure as long as you’ve made sure to tell your story and who you stand to be throughout your extra-curricular information and essays, you won’t have to worry about your grades so much
@gwayne22 I’m going so crazy just waiting for my email!! I feel
Knowing that feburary is close, makes me so nervous! I want to now if i got in, but then I dont. I know I’m not the smartest nor the most involved… so it makes me feel like I have no chance getting into this amazing program it didn’t hurt to try though!
@Visionary7 you have to be in the top 10 rank of your class, so at least 3.5 unweighted gpa
Thanks for the info guys I just really nervous about this program because it seems perfect for me and I really want to get in
I’m so worried because I’ve always gotten straight As but got a B in AP Calculus last semester.
Guys we just have to ride it out!! We did our best and that is always good enough. Don’t start to doubt yourselves now because you will just drive yourself insane. Just know that you put your all into this and you will get back the best result possible. I know for me am going crazy but focus on school now and don’t think about LEDA. Also, if you don’t get in, I would tell myself that at least I learned to be patient because guess what? This is exactly how it will be when it is time to apply to college.
@gwayne22 is right. LEDA is an amazing opportunity, but if we do not get in we have to learn from this experience. We should keep doing what got us considered for the program or better yet being rejected should make us want to work even harder. We have to keep calm and collect.
How has the first semester been for everyone? For me it was hard and long. SO close ro being a senior yay! =D>
the second semester has been extremely stressful. Because I got a 2160 on my last SAT I figured I should just go all in and do the old SAT since colleges will accept either one, and with that on top of my five AP classes, I got too spread out. I’m probably going to get a B in AP Physics as my schools term ends this week and I have an 85 ( I hate Physics by the way, and all abstract subjects. I’m a history and memorization kind of guy).
That’s sweet!! I have all A’s for last semester! With 2 AP classes. Yaay
@Ahmeda14960 Don’t worry bout that B though AP classes are tough.
Is anyone applying to Questbridge and LEDA? LEDA is definitely my first choice but I’ve been overthinking it and I feel like I have no chance of getting in. I think QuestBridge is a good second option if this doesn’t work out though. 2 weeks until we find out if we made it to Round 2!!
IB is killing me over here
@Gracethecat22
I am definitely looking at Questbridge I also think it is a good second option.
I am applying to Quest bridge as well, and I doubly excited for the college match when I apply as a senior.
What is Quest Bridge
