If it is by region that would mean I’m next, so we can put our theory to test if I get a notification next
haha

Well, I think it might be by state, west to east coast. Hawaii is definitely west!

According to your theory, I should be getting it rather soon b/c I’m CA.

This will make the best sense because they don’t want to select too many from each state. On top of that, we only get three dates to choose from.

Thank you Jei!

@Lav: I agree. I’m going worse than paranoid here. I check my email with my phone like 30 times a day. Just so anxious. Haha

@viv: Are you CA?

I’m probably out then. =(
If someone from Utah already got it, then California should’ve already gotten interviewed.

Thanks for everyone’s advice.

I like the idea of having a mock interview.

Should I keep looking at my email? I’m lost with all of the region to region stuff.
I’m from the East.

YES!!!
Don’t lose faith until you get the rejection letter.

It may be by region because the on leda scholars page there’s a brochure where you can see the distribution of students by location. According to this 60 scholars are from 35 states. That seems pretty region based to me since it’s so spread out.

http://www.ledascholars.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/LEDA_Brochure_0905_f-2012-Brochure.pdf

Then I wouldn’t say it’s from coast to coast. Maybe randomly???

Um, they said interviews will be going on all through “April.” No specific date was given, unlike round 1. So, all of us should still be in this until May comes around.

All these theories are making me and you more nervous…

Thank you ThumnusTheGreat! I appreciate it
Keep your head up everyone!

I was always taught it’s not over until it’s over. Haha
You’re welcome.

I agree with Thumnus, I think interviews will be going on throughout the month of April. With all the theories, I doubt that the people who received news first are first priorities or more qualified, so I think everyone shouldn’t give up hope!

Also when I emailed her asking when we will be notified, Iris said, “You will receive an email from us in the next few days.” so maybe she was only specifying that to me so you guys might have to ask. Sorry for the false information earlier, I thought she meant they will be emailing everyone :

Haha, all this are cool beans, but at the same time, we may just be giving ourselves false hope.

But looking at it logically, it does seem like that’s what leda is doing.

Oh, thanks for the clarification.

Haha Thumnus. It is indeed not over until it’s over!

Let us all hang on the the hope that they are still reviewing our applications :)

I’m anxious for everyone! I mainly joined CC for this thread too, and it will be my obsession until the final results come out :P

Yes, I must concur.

Honestly, what does this leda experience mean to you guys?? I’m curious to hear.

Besides the fact that it looks good on transcript, for me, I value being a member of a highly selective 60 scholar group. The experience of spending six weeks at Princeton prepping for tests, building leadership, etc seems like a fairy tale.
The fact that I get to hang out with a diverse group of students that are all driven to succeed is just the icing.

I’ve never been to the mainland before, and I have always wanted to attend college in the mainland. I feel like if I can participate, I will be more prepared to go to these colleges away from my family. I would also love to have the valuable college guidance, but more than that I want to share the knowledge that I will earn and inspire my school because we’re looked at lowly, that they can apply for these programs and can actually be chosen :p
