@brilliantbachu LEDA would make and pay for your travel arrangements.
It was intense. The workload was heavy almost everyday, but it’s definitely do able. And it’s worth it honestly. @AspireandDream
@AspireandDream There was a lot of homework, but if you don’t procrastinate, you can do it in due time. I would wait to the last minute and you will also realize that there’s homework you really don’t need to do, especially for Aspects
@AspireandDream Like @cryinginspanish and @delittleone said, LEDA is supposed to be rigorous and you will get a good amount of homework. For me, I had sometimes already read some of the assigned readings for Aspects, so I would skim them quickly and then work on my ACT work or my work for my writing class. You should definitely make sure you understand the readings for Aspects, because they’re essential to making sure that you have a meaningful discussion in class, and because Aspects is the class you spend the most time in.
What is the limit on Extra Curricular activities that should be listed on the application? DS counts 10-12 but is that too much? I believe Common App limit is 8-10?
For former attendees - how many activities did you list on your app?
@magnetnh fill in as many as you have, be genuine, but don’t exceed the limit of 12 I would say
@Hamlon It’s good to see that you are applying to LEDA too fellow TASSer Are you going to be applying to TASP as well?
Hey Danny @dannydalt64 Looking forward to applying to LEDA and TASP.
@dannydalt64 The two programs are so different that I don’t think I would have a good time at TASP. I’m applying, I guess, but it’s not my first choice as far as Summer plans go. I LOVED my TASS experience, but not so sure about TASP. :-/
Hey Micheal @univbound101 ! How’ve you been? I look forward to applying to both of them as well. I just hope the apps won’t take long like they did for me last year, ess[ecially last year lol
@Hamlon Why do you seem hesitant over TASP :/. Ik alot of people who did TASS and TASP and they’ve loved them both The focuses of study are different yes, but at least from what I’ve been last year, the community and its members seem similar to that of TASS (very intellectual, friendly, etc.)
@dannydalt64 I have my personal reasons, but what might not be for me could be the best thing for someone else. I had some pretty bad first impressions of some of the TASPers, but I’m open to experiencing it for myself.
How far are y’all on the application? I hate myself for only starting the essays today. I would’ve started sooner, but the prompts were intimidating. :-S
@Hamlon I’ve skipped around on the application. I actually need to finish all of my essays.
its says that it is for low-income family. If my family is well-off, does that mean I might as well not apply?
@exilion Directly from the website: Students must be from low-income backgrounds. Eligibility is assessed individually based on the composition and income of a student’s family.
So we can only put 8 activities?
@aspiringgirl Yeah.
Should precollege activities be put under activities? The categories given are weird as they don’t seem to the in with these type of activities. So would precollege programs go under extracurricular activity? What about an after school science program? Just wondering how to categorize these activities.
Time to write the best essays you’ve ever written in life people. TASP 2017 application is out!
This thread is relatively quiet. How are your essays coming along? What other programs are you guys applying to?
