Leftist involvement for admission?

I am a high school student interested in majoring in physics at a prestigious university after graduation, and I have some questions about my involvement in a leftist organisation. I am currently a member of the International Socialist Organization, and I’m wondering if including this membership on my application is an awful idea, or a great one. On one hand, I’ve committed a lot of time to this organization, and believe my involvment in it could show colleges some favorable qualities (involvement outside of school, etc.). On the other, I know socialism is often looked at unfavorably. Is there any sort of consensus on this type of decision? Thanks.

Could you describe it in vaguer terms? “Member of international political organization for which I did x, y, and z.”

Chasing prestige is a feature of Socialism?

That’s part of the issue, I’m less of a socialist and more of a hypocrite (or, more truthfully, I’m mostly a member for the sake of educating myself on political systems).

I guess I could describe it more vaguely. Would it be smart to just describe it as a platform for activism that I joined to self educate?

It’s fine.
