Legacy, a determinant factor?

I'm planning on applying to Boston college and would like to know if legacy is an important factor of admission for this school.

My Grand father worked there as chairman in the business sector i think, my uncle still works there as a teacher, my father graduated there and my grand mother still knows a lot of people at that school (teachers, ect...).

I know this will help me but don't know if it will be an important factor for admission.

What do you guys think?

They particularly care if you have a parent who is an alum. If you are in the ballpark otherwise, your admission would be pretty well assured.

Each college is different in how much of a tip factor legacy status will provide. At many highly selective colleges legacy status is only a tie-breaker type tip factor. I don't know how much influence legacy has at Boston College.

ladies and gentlemen, the president of the United States.

Many colleges expect an applicant to apply ED in order to get a legacy advantage.
