LEGACY admissions

Does ANYONE know where I can find a site for early decision legacy applicant stats? I’ve been told if you apply early w/ legacy the acceptance stats are pretty high, but I can’t find any evidence to back this up. I know there’s nothing I can do at this point but I’d like to prove to my parents its not some type of free ride for any student regardless of grades and such…

"Penn admitted 47.4 percent of legacy applicants this fall, a decrease from last year's 50.1 percent, making up about 19 percent of all those admitted early."

holy crap thats a lotta legacy

I know this is kind of unrelated, but do you think that PENN gives more of an advantage to legacies whose parents went to the school, over grandparents? Or is it all considered the same? Thanks

all same i think. alumni=money

so what would you guys say about an early decision double alumni with a brother in right now, 1390 sat (sick verbal, bad math), 760bio, 690 writing (dont ask), 750 USH, 5 on APUSH, English, Calc, Bio, with HORRIBLE extraciriculars besides 12 years of private classical piano and like, 3 clubs harharharhar boo extracirriculars... just kididng, i mean i have some stuff, but you know, no tutoring in china and alll that stuff

i'd say 65%. Those scores are on the lower end of the spectrum and no ECs won;t help...

Do you have any other hooks, like living in Nebraska?

nooo im from an affluent county in NY i just happen to be the only non affluent person there

URM?

Not that I have any authority at all on this but.... I think your scores are very solid and being a legacy at PENN, especially double, helps alot plus ED and etc. I would say you have a good chance. I mean they don't only want perfect applicants, at least thats what I comfort myself with!

Just a question, did you make your piano lessons this big passion of yours that you devoted your life and time to etc? I think they like to see meaningful ECs that a person has stuck to for a long period of time and truly enjoys.

here here for non-perfect candidates! i didn't elaborate much on my extracirriculars- just described it as one of my passions- but i dont perform or anything like that- its more hobby like im just pretty good =)
i wrote my whole essay about how i dont believe in cliches and formulating a template for your life- it was pretty cracked out but well written as a whole- i think i took that i didnt slave over you for four years approach as well... it will either work for, or against me entirely
