i am a legacy at william and mary and want to know if i would only get the benefit if i applied ed. william and mary is not my first choice so i do not want to apply ed.

It’s not just for early decision. I’m sure W&M Admissions will give more info. on Monday.

Being a legacy applicant (meaning one or both of your parents attended W&M) is a plus factor regardless of when you apply. When we say plus factor we mean it’s a component of your application that works in your favor. Being a legacy will not make someone who’s not competitive for admission an admit but it’s something that can certainly help those who are competitive for admission.

If W&M is not your first choice, do not apply ED. ED is a binding form of early admission and those who are admitted are expected to enroll.
