My son sent his app in EA and we were wondering how much legacy helps on EA. In particular, both parents are law school grads but did not go to ND as undergrads. Do they make any distinction in legacy determination, or are they only looking for undergrad degrees? His numbers and ECs are pretty good.

One of my parents got a master's at Notre Dame and I was considered as a child of an alum...got a letter in the mail from the assistant provost for enrollment a few days after I submitted my app.

Legacy will help a lot in EA. Even if the numbers are a bit below the middle 50% numbers, legacy will more than make up for that.

Notre Dame loves their legacies.

It will do nothing but help you. Your son will be evaluated with other legacies to try and fill that 26% quota.

Tell your son good luck.

Notre Dame loves their legacies! And right now I'm loving ND.
How soon will they let EA applicants know?
