points system?... hmm does anyone have any info regarding this? (like how the UCSD pointing system you can look online and kind of "guess" at what you may have)..i have not heard anything about michigan points so any info would be great

wait mich thru theirs out as does not have it available, or just does not use it.
Also- for anyone, it seems like michigan isnt as big a fan of the sat2s as other schools...is this true or is it just me? Because i only have a 1380 sat1 and my 2's are what are helping me, esp with my crummy 3.67 (recalculated uMICH gpa)

SAT2's don't count. Mich threw out the point system. PinkPanther36, you have a good chance, especially if you have taken a very hard schedule and have a couple of ECs. Thanks for the link.

Michigan threw away the points system 2 years ago, after the high profile supreme court decisions (U-M lost one and won one). U-M now adopts a holistic approach for all applications. URM and legacy are still factors but no longer assigned points.

I mentioned the old points system to give an indication of how much legacy is weighed in the decision.

according to the website you provided Panther, "SAT II scores weigh more heavily than SAT I or ACT scores." Does anyone else find that particularly strange?

whoa the sat2s dont count at ALL? thats pretty messed up if umich is as good a school as it claims! i know im not a big genius and on this site, a 1380 isnt that good, but im content with it...but if i DONT get in, i'll be pretty bummed that my 2's (700,700,800) didnt count one bit!

Michigan only says that SAT2 is not required. It doesn't say that you can't submit it. In fact, I think there is a slot for you to fill in your scores on the form.

My take is that it is not gonna be counted the same way as SAT1. Michigan takes a holistic approach to all application reviews...that means it considers everything you submit with your application.
