<p>I think it's definitely taken into consideration - I know quite a few people who had parents or siblings attend Rice (siblings seem more common).</p>
<p>As for whether or not you'll get in - well, it's about a lot more than the stats you posted. If it weren't, Rice wouldn't waste their time asking you for an essay, recommendations, transcript, box, etc.</p>
