Hey guys!

My dad is a graduate from the Tisch School of Business (now known as Stern). Is this of any significance to NYU? I didn't see an area on the application to apply as a Legacy. Does anyone know if NYU takes legacy admissions?

Thanks!

Honestly, judging from last year, I don't think so.

In other words, NYU (especially Stern) has become extremely competitive, and I really don't think legacy connection makes any significant contribution in the admissions decision, despite what they say to appease the alumni.

Yes, having a family member will boast your chances of getting NYU, of course if your academic record is poor then it won't help, but it its decent then you have a better shot.

I have no idea what your academic record/stats/clubs/bio/etc is.

Its hard to define poor academic record, they use the term medicore, I guess you need like B's and A's.

On a side note, I know stern is very competitive, so I am not sure how much wait weight they will give you, you may need to double check, keep in mind that on the application there is a box you can check off if a sibling or parent has went to NYU.

Yeah, it helps slightly.
