Hey, I was wondering if anybody knew of admit rates for legacy applicants who apply early to brown or to anywhere else, and, even further, if anyone knew of rates for people with legacy and early status with sat scores over 2250. (i doubt much of the sort exists)

thanks.

(for my legacy case at brown, it should be noted that little to no cash has been given, and i’m a rich white kid, so it could even hurt)

Yeah im hoping that legacy admit is high too, cause you take whatever you can get. In my case I have tons of family connecitons that include legacy. Good Luck BrownPlease!!

Even if the legacy acceptance rate is double in RD, that still means 65%+ of legacy applicants are not admitted...

I have not seen any stats that reveal the acceptance rate for legacies in ED vs. the overall ED rate. I doubt that it would be double the overall ED rate.

my application is banking on the hope that legacy/early/2250+ with otherwise solid to impressive stuff is not turned down very often, though i make no claims of this being likely.

Applied ED to Brown...
750 CR 720 W 710 M
98.914 unweighted GPA (we go on 100 scale).
770 World History
750 US History
700 Literature
18th out of 569
4 year varsity wrestling/loads of other extras

Legacy: One side of my family signed the Brown charter (twice), other side has had someone attend (and/or be employed by) Brown in every generation since founding.

3rd try this generation: first was admitted but went to Harvard, second was rejected. My chances?

My dad is a legacy too, and he also currently does interviews for potential Brown acceptances.
According to the meeting he attended in order to become an interviwer, the lady (who works for Brown) said that the chances of a non-legacy applicant are 14% while the chances of applicant who's a legacy is 35%!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I too want to go to brown (a lot) but I'm only a sophomore, so I have plenty of time)
Good luck, and being a legacy will certainly be an added bonus for you in the application process
