Legacy, High ACT, low GPA, chances next year?

Hi guys, I'm currently a junior at high school and will be applying early admission next year. I got a 34 on my ACT and currently have a 3.6 weighted GPA with many C's. This year I got straight a's however. Both my sister and brother graduated from the university and both sibs were on the bronze tablet. Do you guys think I have a shot. I know UIUC likes to see kids with high gpa's, but hopefully my strong showing in my classes this year will offset my previous years...

It depends. What is your desired major?

Im not sure will it help to apply undecided. I want to do a bio major probably.

Thanks, roderick. Also do you think the legacy helps much or sibling legacy rather?

I think you can get in, but I’m not sure how the admissions are now (if it is more tough). My GPA in high school was only a tiny bit higher than yours. I took SAT instead, and I am sure if it converted to ACT score…it would be a lot lower than yours. I had a plenty of leadership positions though…
I got into DGS and transferred into College of Business sophomore year

yeah im captain of debate and tennis. also i started a charity business which has reached out to thousands of different people. hopefully they’ll take that into consideration. also i have an internship lined up at my u.s. representatives office this summer.

I think your stats looks good to me. Good luck with your application!

i know people who came from very competitive high schools/geographic locations with worse gpa/act and got in.
