Does Notre Dame take into account how, for lack of a better word, "strong" your legacy is?
For example, my dad went to ND and is extremely active in his local alumni club. He currently runs almost all of the charity events, and is in line to be the president next year. Would ND consider my legacy to be "stronger" than that of someone whose relative hasn't actively been a part of the alumni network?
Also, if I have several relatives that attended ND, is that worth more than a person who's had just one relative attend?

I have a friend who many years ago was very active in the NJ alumni club and he also went around to various NJ high schools as a admission liaison. He had a deep legacy and his oldest son went to ND but his younger son did not get in. Honestly who really knows. I suspect unless you are donating six figures, what your dad does doesn’t matter too much. For what it is worth AsiasnGinger I have seen your stats and regardless of your legacy status I think you really shouldn’t worry about getting into ND. You are a solid candidate and I would be surprised if you were not accepted. Good luck though.

Alumni parents of legacy applicants receive a letter indicating that about half of the legacy applicants will be admitted. Not knowing your info, I couldn’t say for sure, but if you are a strong candidate, 50% sounds like a pretty good chance to me.

His unweighted gpa is 3.75…what are your thoughts?
