I applied ED2 to Wesleyan, which my mother attended, and received a letter a couple days ago basically saying, "Hey, we see you're applying legacy...we're carefully considering your application." Has anyone received letters like this form Wes/any other schools you applied to with legacy? Is this in any way a likely letter or is it just a form letter for all legacy applicants?

My wife received a similar letter when our daughter applied early to my wife’s college (Yale). It is not a likely letter, but it is confirmation that they recognize that you are a legacy, and that it has been noted on your file, and you should get a careful review.

It’s absolutely NOT a Likely Letter – those are unmistakeable in their wording. You’ve gotten a courtesy letter.
