Ok so I know if your grandparents/parents went to a college it counts as a legacy. My question is, if my sister went to the college I'm applying to, does that count as a legacy I can include on an application?

If the application asks about any family members who have attended or currently attend that college, then yes you would write that your sister went there (or is currently there if that is the case).

In most cases, a “legacy” is simply the child of an alum. However, different schools weigh family connections more or less heavily (or not at all, in some cases).if you are applying to a college your sister is attending, it can’t hurt to note that she is a student there. Many colleges require a “statement of interest” essay–“Why Cornell?” or “Why Duke?”–and this would be a good place to mention her.

Interesting choices for examples there. I seem to know of more sibling pairs at Cornell and Duke than any other school.

Sibling attending a school does not make an applicant a legacy - but most AdComms will weigh it.

The common app does ask where sibs went to college. A few colleges consider it for scholarship purposes.

Ok awesome, thanks everyone!
