So, I know that I want to apply to Penn ED once the time rolls around. I'm a 5th generation legacy, (mom, grandpa, great aunt, great grandpa, great-great uncle, great-great grandpa) and I was wondering how much of an edge this really gives me?

A ton compared to all the non legacy people.

I was deferred and I am a 3rd generation with pretty decent stats, ECs, and essays (2190, A-average, ect…).

More legacy applicants are rejected than accepted. I am still hoping to get in Thursday though.

Yeah… what’s the legacy applicant acceptance rate, like 30 to 40% ish?

Legacy doesn’t guarantee acceptance. But legacy status gives a lot more boost than people like me.

Penn explicitly states that they favor legacy applicants. (But only those who apply ED) The fact that you’re 5th generation will help you immensely.
