legacy?

how much does being a legacy help in admissions at UW? (also: 4.12 W gpa, 3.89 UW, 1370/2130 sat, 29 act)

SRY, forgot to add, i live in CT....

anyone? plz?

I know that its considered, I don't think it plays too big a role in the admissions decision.

ok, thanks, but do you think that i have a good chance regardless?

Absolutely. Above average GPA and SAT's, although being out of state will make it a little bit harder. Regardless, the UW still does most of its admissions off of numbers, i'm sure you're fine. However, it wouldn't hurt to have good essays

ok thanks a bunch

I don't think being a legacy has anything to do with getting in - that's what the admission people said this summer, at least. They don't ask, and they don't care. Unless you're related to a Prof - in that case you get a free ride!

And I think you have a great chance with those scores and that GPA. You're above average.

ok thanks, but yeah, on their application you DO have to answer for each parent if they are a UW alum, and my mom is. but thanks again

and im also just sort of curious, are there very few ppl who attend UW from the east coast??

i mean i know the majority of the ppl at UW are from washington, but is there a significant # from the northeast??

I don't really know how many people are from the Northeast, but their website might say...

okie doke thnx, havent seen it... but ill check again
