Does anyone here know how big legacy influence is at Georgetown? I have about 9-10 family members who graduated from there, and I was wondering if that could make up for my meager sat (around 1350) and decent gpa (3.9 uw)

Ive heard the legacy admittance rate is 40 %

The legacy admittance rate is probably not 40% any more, given the current applicant climate at Georgetown. However, legacy applications with a brother or sister having attended Georgetown or attending Georgetown are read and considered seperately from other applications. Legacy from a parent or farther back gives a token benefit, as it does everywhere.

I'd say you have a good shot. 1350 isn't meager, and 3.9 uw is better than decent. There are plenty of students with those stats or lower and they don't have a ridiculous legacy like you do. I have no idea what the acceptance rate for legacies is, but it does help.

I know it's definitely not meager, what I meant was compared to most of the people on cc.com
