<p>A. Yes.
B. It probably helps to a degree, especially in the category of expressing interest. Legacy matters much less at the U of C than it does at Yale or Notre Dame or many other top schools. You do get the application fee waived, though.</p>
<p>Libby mentioned that they may actually hold legacy applicants to a somewhat higher standard since they should know more about the school and its mission. But if one get do that, especially in the why Chicago essay, I believe it might help.</p>
