If I have a legal name on my official documents and a different day-to-day name on my transcript and school documents, how do I include both on the Common Application?

First, you should have your legal name on your school documents no matter what you go by (just my opinion). There is a nickname box on common app, but you can also write your nickname in parenthesis with your legal name.

Thanks, so I would use the nickname box for the name that appears on my transcript?

It is better to change your school transcript to match your legal name, otherwise, adcom may have trouble finding your transcript.

Since so many Asian kids have official Asian names but are known by American ones, I’m sure schools are quite used to dealing with this problem. If they are missing a document and you’ve submitted an application, they’ll be letting either you or your GC know about it.
