<p>Hi,</p>

<p>On my passport, green card, social security, etc., my Chinese name is used. However, in school, it's always my English name. I don't mean a nickname (like the records say my Chinese name but everyone calls me by my English name), my English name is my official name on everything like ID, transcripts, score reports, etc. etc.</p>

<p>Do I write my English name or my Chinese name?</p>

<p>I had a job over the summer and filled out W-2 forms using my English name and I remember it was fine, too.</p>

<p>I don't think it matters for college admissions. Just be consistent on all materials submitted.</p>

<p>Since your English name is used on transcripts and such, I'd use your English name.</p>

<p>Could some more people please comment. I have the same question,and I don't want it to end up hurting me in the college admissions process. Thanks.</p>
