I agree with rossji. LBB is very cute but just did not convince me that she was a college student. I kept thinking she would have looked younger with a straighter hairstyle ... that puffy, fluffy mass of blonde hair (which I recognize is central to the whole show) was just too mature-looking. Orfeh was undoubtedly the best thing on that stage, in my mind. I also didn't get the whole song "legally blonde." I realize that that's a take off of "legally blind," but it didn't work for me. That said, as a fan of musical theater, I am always glad when a show is popular and brings in audiences, especially young people. (As good as LBB is/was, does anyone else with that Kristin Chenoweth was young enough to take that part? I sure do.)

nmr, if you think LBB was too old at 26, I doubt that Kristin would be believable at 39! :)

I am surprised that LBB is only 26. There is something about her face now that is far more mature/full than it was when she was in Hairspray as Amber. (I should say here that I think she is very, very talented.) alwaysamom, please do note that I said that I wished that Kristin was young enough to do it; never meant in any way to say that I thought she could take the part and be believable now!! :) My guess is that if I saw Legally Blonde live and on stage, the age thing wouldn't be an issue, as it wasn't as if LBB was the only person in her 20s (or over) on the stage playing older teens/college-aged kids. One more reason why live theater needs to be experienced live, right? ;)

Actually, law students are not teens or college-aged. They are over 22 at least. I thought LBB looked the age of a law student and given that her real age is 26, that's not too far off the mark as the youngest you likely would be at graduation is 25.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see Orfeh as my tape stopped after the first hour. :(

Good point as always, susan! You are absolutely right. My bad, as the college students (and high schoolers!) say.

Susan~check the MTV schedule...I completely forgot about when it was on the first time around but DVRed (is that a word?) it a couple of days later. I'm looking forward to watching it after reading this discussion.

Oh, didn't realize it will air again. It was sorta frustrating to be watching it and have the tape end half way through it!

I think it is on tomorrow night again and at least once more after that.

Hmmm. I went to the MTV site and I don't see it on for tomorrow night and can't find when any future airings are.

Just kidding...I thought I read that somewhere but now I can't find anything about any future air dates.......what a bummer.

Here in Philly it will air again on Friday 11-2p according to our cable station.

Central time on MTV tomorrow is 10 AM to 1 PM. I'm having my husband record it, as he deals with our equipment here at home!

Where do you find this because when I looked on MTV's website, I didn't see any listings with regard to Legally Blonde in the next few days. Since my taping of it is messed up and only has one hour of the show, I'd like to see the rest and this time have my husband get the machine set up before work as last time I obviously did something wrong.

EDIT...as you can see, I never watch TV and wasn't sure where to look but I just looked on TV Guide online and it says "not airing in next 14 days" when looking at our local TV provider. :(

I have digital cable so maybe that is different. I just search on my TV and that's what came up. I looked on the website and I couldn't find it either. MTV usually shows everything multiple time so I would think it will be on again. Sorry.

My daughter escorted a group of students from Columbia University to see Legally Blonde last night as part of Columbia's "Urban New York" program which provides free tickets to students for various events throughout the city. She is on the committee that organizes the program and "unexpectedly" got to go to this when another staff member cancelled. She called me when on the way home and said it was just delightful...

She agreed with me that one of the most amazing things was the dance with the jumpropes and the fact that the person playing Brooke could even BREATHE, much less sing!

Legally Blonde was listed in our TV magazine this week, and as of last night, my husband found it on the MTV listing on TV when he set this to record. This morning the listing is no longer on MTV either on the TV or on the web page. They seem to have taken it off the air.

You are right, ericsmom! I just checked my TiVo and, though my "to do" list still shows that it will record LB at 11, if you go to the search function it is not there. MTV lists America's next Top Model instead! ARGH!!!!

SoozieVT - no worries; I can give you my copy next time I see you. Are you going to Urinetown? If not, we can hook up at your d's show (ONE of them, anyway!) and I can give it to you then OR I can give it to my d to give to your d ... getting awfully complicated! BTW, I'm dying to see "Little Shop" and my d keeps asking yours about ticket sales; she doesn't seem to think I'll be able to get tix!! :( GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

RossJi....thanks for the offer. It is not that big of a deal but it sure was frustrating to only get to watch half of the show!

No, I am not going to NYC to see Urinetown. Is your D in it? My D could not audition for it because the show she is musically directing, Atonement, added a performance that conflicts with one of Urinetown's performances. I mean I'd like to see it, given she has friends in it, including theater buddy/roomie from our region as Hope, but it is all I can do to keep going to NYC to see my own kid's shows. I was recently there to see Atonement and am going back for Little Shop and have to turn around days later to go down to pick my kids up in NYC on way to grandmother's for Thanksgiving. It ain't around the corner! It's six hours away. Also, I gotta go see my other one and so we're doing that next for her Parent Weekend.

As far as Little Shop of Horrors tix go.....they are on available now (they're free!) at Ticket Central. They became available this past Wednesday and I got some for us and my other D will travel to NYC to see one performance as well. I think as of today, tix may still be available as my D called briefly from rehearsal to make sure I already reserved some tix as I get the feeling that cast members were putting in requests today perhaps. Call Ticket Central as there are only four performances. We'll be going back for Only Children in the winter. Let me know some time what your D is up to. I know their class also has some cabaret but my D now has to miss that too because Atonement just added another performance that same night.

So, call Ticket Central, like now....if you wanna see Little Shop. Number is 212-279-4200. They are open daily until 8 PM.

LB will be on MTV again tonight. Check your local listings.
