Legitamate Concerns?

Hello CC,

I've been concerned about my chances of getting in as a transfer to NC States engineering program. In high school I did poorly.. 3.4 weighted GPA Few AP's 650 M 610 R on SAT ETC...and needless to say I didn't get in to NC State.

Currently I go to a well known community college about an hour from Raleigh. I realistically see my self passing my classes with:
4.0 - expos. writing.
4.0 -western civ.
4.0 Calc I.
3.0 - Gen Chem I

next semester im taking:
Calc II
Physics

I am worried that with a only 1 semester to show for, I may not get into NC States rigourous/selective engineering program. I have feeling they will still base on my highschool grades mostly, and see I did ok in cc college.

or

Will they see I did well in Calc and bring me in?

Would it be beneficialy to retake the SAT in college if im confident I can get 750+ on Math?

Anything I should do here?

Thanks guys.

I would give it at least another semester before transferring if I were you. The longer you wait to transfer the less your high school grades matter. They aren’t going to let you in JUST because you did well in calc.

I would first learn how to spell legitimate before I transfer to another college.

wow great responses.

With engineering programs, the sooner you apply the better. I would wait no longer than one semester.

To increase your chances, I would take Physics this semester. You want them to see that grade

thank you,
I would take Physics but I don’t have the prereq’s of Calc I completed :(. Theirs an 8 week course starting soon too. But thanks for the advice thats a really good point.
