I’m a current “Asian” Lehigh freshman and I can honestly say that Lehigh is greatly stepping up efforts to increase its diversity, not just Asians but all different races. Much of the complaints against Lehigh coming from minorities is that its student body underepresents the larger diversity that exist in most schools. And, this general thought is very true. I believe that one reason Lehigh is not moving up in rankings, referring to a previous thread, is not just due to academics but its lack of diversity.

I think bickering over who said what, which comprise most of the thread’s posts are irrelevant. Instead, people need to realize that Lehigh is trying to change its image as being an all white school and is tremendously stepping up efforts to have much more diversity.

Lehigh realizes that we’re in the 21st century and that the world doesn’t revolve around America anymore, it’s a truly global society in which everyone depends on other people. A good college education should reflect this progression.

And just as a sidenote, goldblot, I don’t think your comment was appropriate in saying that Lehigh is unique because it is not diverse. Whether or not you intended it, your comment makes it sound as though Lehigh is good in not caving in to the general notion that a college needs to be more representative of different ethnicities. You fail to understand the idea that Lehigh would be preventing a good college education to its students by not being more diverse.
