lehigh/drexel vs villanova/drexel

I have gotten into both programs, and i dont know which one to attend. I really like the romanesque, religious, feeling of villanova along with all the different programs available, while my parents feel that lehigh is a better undergrad, and would be better since i am indian (asian) and lehigh is more diverse. Any ideas what i should choose?

supersweet would you mind posting your stats? you’ve gotten accepted to quite a few universities and im very envious lol

ahah while that isnt a response to my question, i can definitely post my stats:
SAT: 2120 (kinda low compared to the average)
ACT: 33
GPA: 92% (idk how that converts)
AP’s: AP Physics B (soph-4), AP Chem (jun-4), AP Microeconomics (jun-4)
Course load-
fresh: geometry, latin, spanish 2, physics, chorus, western civ I
soph: algebra 2 honors, spanish 3, chemistry, ap physics, chorus, west civ II
junior: ap microeconomics, pre calc honors, spanish pre-ap, ap chemistry, biology
senior: AP calculus BC, ap biology, ap english lit, ap spanish language, honors us history

extra curriculars: research at medical school of wisconsin (during vacations all 4 years), volunteering at a hopsital (4 hrs/week all 4 years), mock trial (all 4 years), school musical (3 years), tennis (captain sr year, varsity all 4 years), SMART team (1 year), ambassadors club, started a volunteer group that lasted for a year

idk thats all i can think of

buuuuump

I have never been to either campus, but I know Villanova is in Philly, which, I think, could be pretty cool. Lehigh is rural (I think?) but is a solid undergraduate institution. If I were you, I’d go to Lehigh simply to be at a better school, but that’s just me. Congrats on being accepted!

actually diversity is about the same at both schools - not that great. but at least villanova has its proximity to philly, whereas theres really not much to do at lehigh.

Nova has one of the best equipped classrooms. It’s on the cutting edge of IT support IMO.

What I didn’t like about Nova was that one’s experience at the school is circumscribed to a “Christian” experience. In this age of globalization, where as Tom Friedman says - the World is a Flat Place, getting exposed to people from different cultures can not come from being in a Christian University. You will be treating patients from all different cultures. You will attend conferences, interact, and collaborate with global Key Opinion Leaders. From what I have seen in my circles, half the MD population is comprised of Jewish, Indian (South east Asian), and Chinese Americans of mostly other faiths…

From one Desi to another -go to a more diverse place. If Lehigh is more diverse, go there.

thats what im worried about. i have to choose between either lehigh or drexel and i know lehigh is not that diverse. any advice?

i have a similar problem (not to steal the original poster’s question), but I got into villanova/drexel and drexel/drexel. aside from the monetary aspect, which is better to attend, in terms of education? I want to major in bio but i cannot find any rankings for college biology departments. also, would one be better over the other if i later wanted to opt out of the program and apply to a different medical school?

Supersweet,is your 33 on your ACT superscored,or is it from one-sitting

If you are looking for diversity, Drexel >>> Lehigh>>> Nova.

Smeajz,
At Nova, I did see a shuttle train that takes you to Philly. So, you can do OK with transportation.
I believe the same train goes to Lehigh although I am not sure. You may want to check on their website.

how much of a difference really exists diversity wise? is it a lot, or just a tiny bit?

and david the score is from just my first sitting

my sister is in the first year of med school from the villanova-drexel program
we’re indian
and she absolutely lovedddd villanova. dont worry about the diversity. in fact they have an annual diwali show which ive been to twice i think and its amazing.

the campus is beautiful and philly is right there. id suggest nova.

dont worry about feeling left out cause ur brown.
the only positive aspect of lehigh is that its right next to dorney park =D. id still take philadelphia. =]

man i should have applied to the villanova one as well, i got into the lehigh and drexel one. as of now, it looks like im headings to lehigh but im still waiting on the financial package. Hey collegeinfo, was it easy for your sister to stay in the program and what not?
