I have 1450 2 part SAT. 31 ACT. Subject tests: 760 Math 2, 740 Math 1, 710 Chemistry. 3.2 uw 3.5 w gpa. Prestigious hs. 5 ap’s. Both of my parents also went there.
I really dont think you have any stats that will overcome that GPA. You’d have to write amazing essays and ECs to make up for a GPA under 3.5 at all and even more so for a GPA at 3.2. I hope you get in but the chances aren’t in your favor!
I’m sorry but @MandarinSin you’re partially retarded. Colleges will realize that the 3.2 GPA is not representative of the student seeing as they scored so highly on standardized testing …the difficult classes and legacy will also help. AND THE ED….Madarin has no clue what they are talking about. You will get in. I would be willing to bet my testicals on that.
While I agree with @APsooof, he cannot be trusted because he spelled testicles wrong…
@APsooof, check out Lehigh’s site first? He is in the middle of the middle 50% for scores and way below the type of GPA that is expected from a students like those… Most of the students with those scores are at 3.7+ unweighted and 4.0+ weighted. Obviously, legacy and ED will help tons but does that make up for the very lacking GPA? Maybe, maybe not. I wouldn’t say he’s a match but that doesn’t mean he has no chance.
On their website I am just above the 75th percentile for test scores and that range is for all accepted students. That includes all the kids with crazy stats that don’t attend. It’s not the stats for their student body.
Look at their site(http://www4.lehigh.edu/admissions/undergrad/profile/default.aspx) againEdit forgot to add those SAT scores together, my bad. You’re right, you’re just at the 75%. Also, remember, you’re competing for acceptance not based on whether or not you will attend although they might be slightly inclined to admit someone who they know will show up. You’re competing, at least somewhat directly, with those ultra high stat people for however many slots are offered. Just because they aren’t sure who will attend doesn’t mean that they won’t admit them over you.
Also, from using parchament(god knows it is not very accurate but it’s normally at least close), the average unweighted GPA for admitted students is around 3.7. There’s a pretty big jump between that and your current GPA and that’s the main factor that I think will hold you back.
I hope you get in! Good luck!
I don’t think you understand that that SAT range is for admitted students. That scale is a good amount higher than the range for their student body… my naviance says I wil likely get in and that’s without ed2 and double legacy. @APsooof
thanks btw
@mattyice10101 , you’re not applying to be part of the student body. You’re applying to be admitted. Also, like I’ve said… your SAT is good but your GPA is very bad. They are likely to,somewhat, balance each other out and leave you as a below average applicant.
