I was accepted into Lehighs Integrated Business and Engineering Honors program and was planning on doing that. Then I got into Vanderbilt off the waitlist, so now Im not sure what I should do. Anyone have familiarity with IBE and/or mechanical engineering at Vanderbilt? Which will have better job opportunities? More fun? Any suggestions??

Someone please give me some advise. I'm really stuck and I have to make a quick decision. I have seen both schools, and I liked Vanderbilt's layout but feel Lehigh's IBE may be better academically and have more opportunities. Someone who's familiar with these programs please respond.

i just know that engineering at vandy is like $50,000 a year, so i you want to pay that much

Does location mean anything to you? Definately consider the difference between Nashville and Bethlehem...

Leigh is just as good as Vandy in engineering and since you got into the special IBE program, i would say Lehigh.

I'm not sure about Vanderbilt, but I chose Emory over Lehigh IBE because IBE forces you to take the a full courseload with little flexibility, and in the end, you don't get a full engineering degree. In addition, Emory/Vanderbilt have more strong areas than Lehigh. If you are sure about your path and don't plan to change (and if money is equal) I would say go to IBE. If you aren't sure about your path 100%, there is more flexibility at Vanderbilt.

That was my reasoning for not going into IBE.

look at my post in vanderbilt's forum.

i would go to lehigh due to the atmosphere and location... also if ur a sports person then lehigh would be a better choice...

By the way, I chose IBE at Lehigh
