I am a student from India (with moderate academic recrd) and wish to pursue electrical engineering.
I have heard that Lehigh U & Trinity College offer fin aid to int'l students.
1. Are these generous enough to meet the financial needs for international stduents?
2. What if I apply trinity ED II? (is trinity general engineering good or should I apply RD to lehigh electrical engg?)

i want to know how generous these institutions are in giving financial aid to international students. moreover, would I make a wise decision in applying EDII trity engineering than getting into any other elec. engineering program in RD? is chances of acceptance in EDII trinity much greater? im really confused on whether i should apply EDII or RD to trinity ! pls. help me out. thanks

Although rankings might not say so, Trinity's engineering program is excellent! As an engineering undergrad, you couldn't ask for more when it comes to lab facilities and professor availability.

For some reason, quite a few pple have asked me whether Trinity offers BSc in engineering or BE... it's BSc in Engineering! or you could even get BA in engineering!

However, Trinity doesn't seem to enroll too many internationals. It only took in like 15 last year i think. Anyway, applyin ED would obviously be better than applying RD... at almost any college.. including Trinity!

If you are applying for Financial aid, try applying to Trinity first. Lehigh gives aid to internationals but not as generously as Trinity. And also try applying early to Trinity, chances in ED 1 or 2 are more than that on the regular round.

hey aaron56, issacnewton, comfy & sahil, thnx for ur advice. but many dudes @ the trinity forum are saying that the racial interaction in trinity is damn bad. full of drinking scenario and stuffs. is that so?

bad racial interaction?.. hmm.. it's more a case of less diversity than racial interaction if you ask me! but different people may have different views..
but yea.. big drinking scene. i don't see why tht would be a problem if you don't want to drink though. lots of non-alcoholic events take place on campus alllll the time!

i think trinity is a better idea if ur applying ED because Lehigh recommends their international applicants requesting aid NOT to apply ED (i e-mailed them) while trinity encourages early applications.

But i think trinity's program is pretty different from other engineering program in the sense that there are no specialisations (although u can concentrate on one area, u will get a bsc engineering while in lehigh u can get a bachelors in electrical engineering).

I have some questions to arron: do u have any idea of the trinity student's starting salaries? what type of grad schools do they go to? are the academics tough?

My info is a year out of date, but I think that Trinity College gives a lot of aid to a handful of internationals, and little or nothing to the rest of applicants from abroad. It is not need-blind. They are looking to use the aid to attract Ivy League caliber students.

that true. and the give almost NO aid during the RD round although they give quite a good aid package if ur very well qualified under the ED round
