I am interested in both of these schools but have no bias since I am not from the area and just beginning my search. Engineering major is probable. Your thoughts?

both schools are great. I'm applying to both as well. I would give Lehigh the nod for engineering though. It depends where you want to be though. Lehigh is in Bethlehem and Villanova is very close to the city. Lehigh is hilly. Villanova has a sweet campus. both aren't too diverse but you can't go wrong with either school.

My son applied and was accepted last year to both...also engineering. He chose Lehigh because the financial aid was so much better.

Both schools are wonderful and have pros/cons. Good luck.

Thank you both for your comments. It is appreciated.

My son also applied to both last year, he is an engineering major. He liked Lehigh's campus better and felt more comfortable there. Lehigh also gave him better financial aid. Villanova's tuition was around $3,000 higher than Lehigh also. Again, both great schools, you just have to go with what feels right to you. Good luck!

Bonmar, is your son at Lehigh now?

Snell, yes my son is at Lehigh now. He is loving it as well. I was so happy he went there as it was my personal first choice for him.(Again, it was between Nova and Lehigh for him). I thought Lehigh was the best fit.
Is your son there as well? and if yes, how is he doing? You can pm me...

My girlfriend was between both schools as well. She chose Lehigh in the end for engineering (she was leaning that way from the start but the fact that they gave her better FA made it sweeter.) So far she seems to be off to a good start and is loving it. They're both good schools, but the campuses/atmospheres do differ. Make sure to visit both to determine which is a better fit for you. Good Luck.

My sister actually was deciding between the two as well. She is now a freshman at Lehigh and LOVES it, she is doing business though.
It was really hard for her to choose between the two though, and she actually sent in deposits to both schools. In the end, she definetely made the right choice.
They are both excellent schools, in my own opinion I believe Lehigh as teh better school, especially since they have a long history with engineering. Heck-they used to be "The fighting engineers". But really, as they say, it's all about "fit", there really is no bad choice between the two.
