@JerseyGirl789 I feel you, at least you got wait-listed, I was flat out rejected after already getting accepted to the Muhlenburg/Upenn 7 year dental proram that only admits 5 people per year…
1540 Sat
800 Math 2
National Merit Finalist
waitlisted
Congrats to all who were accepted and my sincere sympathies to those who were not and were really hoping to attend. My D was waitlisted – 34 ACT, 770 Math 2 subject test, 4.0 W GPA, multiple courses taken at state flagship university (although some lower grades so may have actually hurt), and strong ECs. She interviewed locally, but did not visit and it was not a top choice for her so that may have come through on the app unintentionally.
My take from this admissions cycle is that it’s been a tough one for students with strong applications, but not superstars. They don’t get in to their high reaches, but their low reaches and matches are rejecting or waitlisting them because the schools think they will choose somewhere else.
D Accepted CAS

SAT: 1300
UW: 3.6

A lot of leadership positions in clubs!
DD accepted with great financial aid! This is going to be tough. She loves this school- toured, did their Diversity Achievers Program (DAP) and interviewed. But she got into a few other great schools too and can only pick one ?. This was the last one to hear from.
^my stats are on post 329 but i forgot some things that i thought i should mention:
- i had repeated contact with my area’s rep at college fairs and school visits and an admissions interview that I signed up for last october
- although my scores and grades aren’t spectacular, i have been doing leadership/ASB at my school for all 4 years and i do a lot of community service and volunteer work
S accepted into CSB program! Nice financial aid package, but has a better one somewhere else…but Lehigh has been first on list since he visited, so this will be hard. Need to visit again and then see how to make money grow on trees.
@GFORCE2818 My son got into CSB as well! Did your financial aid package include merit, or just need-based aid? We don’t see any reference to merit and are trying to figure out if it comes later, or he didn’t get any.
@mjrube94 Congratulation! So excited about the CSB program. We can’t find any merit either. Has anyone received merit?
My Daughter Waitlisted . It’s kinda humorous . She was waitlisted at her 2 target schools. Sat 1550, 10 AP’s , 3.9 GPA unweighted , she is published, 5 year varsity athlete, captain , Leadership position , Coaches Special Olympics ever week for 2 year, amazing recs, National Merit Commended .just to name a few. Just goes to show you that it’s all a crap shoot. Waiting on some IVy’s and Duke( deferred ED) and Georgetown. In at Chapel Hill OOS, UVA OOS, Notre Dame , GW, Richmond and JMU Honors OOS.
Congrats to those that got in
Accepted into engineering… 1360 SAT and estimated 3.7 UW GPA (school doesnt do GPA). Taken/taking two engineering, neuroscience, linear algebra, Calc AB and BC, forensic psychology, biomedical research classes and TA 9th grade math. Also co-leader of Model UN and FRC Robotics team and am in a Johns Hopkins Biochemistry internship. This is my top school and I am beyond excited to be admitted but if I don’t get merit then unfortunately I won’t be able to afford Lehigh. I guess I’m waiting on the letter, since no one else has said they got word of merit aid.
I GOT IN!!
I applied for the business school
3.86 UW GPA, 33 ACT
9 APs
Captain of 4 varsity sports teams
Started a club at school and am VP of 2 other clubs
Applied for aid and got almost 60k!!
I visited but did not interview
@vickyvic1 In the same boat here. Waitlisted with high stats and everything else. Yield protection, I assume.
@JerseyGirl789 @vickyvic1 @collegemom111111 same boat here. Very high stats and waitlisted. I had heard from a colleague that Lehigh was known for that (she knew of many who got into much higher ranked but waitlisted at Lehigh).
For the many who were “offered” the waitlist, you are not alone…
2018 Common data info for Lehigh – https://www.lehigh.edu/~oir/cds/lucds2018.htm
2018 Wait list info:
7737 offered WL <this is=“” not=“” a=“” typo,=“” i=“” read=“” again=“” to=“” make=“” sure=“”> (54% of 14,444 RD applications)
3358 accepted a spot on WL
only 69 admitted from WL
2018 Acceptance rate by type of App:
60% acceptance rate for ED. (710 accept of 1178 ED apps)
my math suggests ~19% acceptance rate on RD.
I suspect many WLs had scores above the mid 50% range of applicants
these numbers are very interesting if you look reread them multiple times and stop to think about it for a bit.
For those reading for future years, I guess if you really wanted Lehigh (and were willing to pay full freight and not entertain other offers of other similarly situated schools), ED is clearly the way to go.
If i did not see any merit-based aid in the initial acceptance on the portal, does that mean i didnt get any??
@chester0809 We are trying to figure out the same thing. If anyone receives merit-based aid, please post. I’m hoping that we will find out later in the acceptance package.
waitlisted…
