My son was texting friends he made during Diversity Weekend before we even had him unpacked. Before we left him he already had plans with friends! That is a nice way to start your first night at a new school!
Also, when my son got his letter of acceptance in the mail he was given a merit scholarship to our great surprise. We have always wondered who ever was making the decisions for those scholarships made a point to meet the merit scholarship candidates during Diversity Weekend.
These ‘letter’ notifications are making me nervous. We will be out of town for a week starting Saturday. Is anyone getting an e-mail notfication with these letters?
Please not not see the lack of an invitation as a negative. Diversity Weekend is a very small event. It has it’s own purpose and the only people who know why certain students are invited is the admissions office.
The regular acceptance notices will be available in the Lehigh portal. Go on your trip and just keep checking CC online. This thread will explode when the announcement is made on the portal. The letters are mailed out after that.
Son just received big envelope from financial aid office. Beyond thrilled he received the Dean’s Scholarship award!! Could have sealed the deal with this one since we don’t qualify for financial aid. Good luck everyone as we near the end of this whole college selection process. Son has had some ups and downs and didn’t get into everywhere that he applied but probably accepted into everywhere he belongs.
Hey so the people who were invited to the diversity weekend, any international students? Did you receive an email as well or was there any change in your portal? or only the letter??
I have a few questions…any of you applicants that have received the earlier decision and invite to Diversity weekend non-diverse from NJ?? and we got an email a while back inviting us to an on-campus financial aid session that we did not attend…do you think it was sent only to people who will be accepted and if so will it hurt us that we didnt attend?
@rph222 I do think there were a few non-minority students from NJ that received that letter but not that many. I know of a girl with amazing stats applying for engineering that is not a minority in NJ that did NOT get a letter, so I definitely don’t think if you didn’t get a letter you are not getting accepted. And I doubt they can hold the financial aid session against you if you didn’t attend. Did you indicate on your app that you were applying for need based aid?
No - collegemomjam, we did not indicate that we were applying for need based aid. Do u think the invitation to the financial aid session in itself is an indication of acceptance??
