Based on last year’s forum posts for Lehigh RD, looks like the acceptance emails might come this Tuesday or Wednesday?? What do you think??
My stats are fairly average, but I got invited to Diversity Weekend because I’m from New Mexico and I’m part Portuguese.
@rph222 I’m not sure but if it’s a good sign but I’m positive then that it DID NOT in anyway hurt you that you didn’t go to the financial aid seminar.
typo above…not sure if it’s a good sign, but positive then that it DID NOT in anyway hurt you that you didn’t go to the financial aid seminar.
mamahill,
Congratulations on the Dean Scholarship! Our son also got one and we too did not qualify for financial aid. Lehigh was actually our son’s top pick. He might have been able to get into a more competitive school. But really, who wants to be in the bottom of the class even if it is a top school? Our son gained so much self confidence by being a great student. When he graduated he had the confidence to apply to a top company in his field and he got the job.
Lehigh is a school that really nurtures their students. It is not just about academics. They want to create leaders and they offer many different opportunities for their students to niche to lead.
I am so happy for all of you!!!
Thank you @kikkydee. Interesting that when my husband called the woman who answered the phone told him that the Dean’s Scholarship is only awarded to 2% of the accepted students and it’s a very prestigious award. All the more reason to take a real serious look at the school. Son was denied to UVA which was his first choice but guess it wasn’t meant to be and the award took the sting out of the rejection. Awaiting to see when accepted students days are posted once all RD decisions are released next week.
Congrats to your son!! And thanks for sharing your story. That’s what this forum is all about and has been my bible during this entire college application process.
mamahills,
You can read all about the Merit Scholarships in the Lehigh course catalog. I got a hard copy of the catalog and I use to read it all the time!!! It was really helpful. During conversations with our son I would already have a general awareness of services offered, policies and course requirements. It is not the best to just rely of the academic advisor. Haha.
It is a special feeling to know a school wants you enough to offer such a gift. I even figured out much Lehigh was paying him to study 20 hours each week. He would never have been able to find a job that was going to pay that kind of money! That perspective certainly took the sting out of the long hours studying! Although everyone at Lehigh seems to enjoy putting long hours in studying - it is a real source of pride for the students.
Please let us know what your son decides to do!
When do you guys think decisions are coming out??'ahhh
Not sure. Scared!
Last year it looked like Tuesday of this week…any of you have any insight??
I’m gonna guess either tonight or tomorrow
Do you know what “tonight” means? After school? After 5? Any idea?
Thanks for the update!
ED1 decisions were posted at 4, ED2 were up at 3:40, according to previous threads. Hold onto your hats if its true!
Will the decisions be posted on the portal?
Guess it’s not 4… bummer. Maybe won’t even be today. Just have to keep checking I guess.
ok - so we will wait til 5!!
Looks like it’s not coming out today?
I hate how some schools don’t give a concrete date. It’s like they are messing with us trying to build suspense.
Are you sure it’s tonight?
I don’t think it’s tonight if the decisions from ED were sent out closer to 4. But I guess they could be any time, really.
