Hi this is my first post, hope I'm doing it right. I am a now senior in highschool in PA and I have eyes for Lehigh early decision. I am Hispanic and I love my culture, but I do get along with everyone no matter what background or belief. I know I fit well into Lehigh, no question about it. So here is what my student model (I guess :3) looks like:

I am a very diligent student with an unweighted GPA of 4.0. I am the validectorian of my class. I'm 1st in my class rank. In all my classes I have an 95 or above. I excel in math, rarley get below a 98%. I took AP stat, I'm taking dual enrollment western history, AP English, and I'm going to expose my self to some calculus this summer (2014). I have been to the multicultural leadership conference at Lehigh, took 2 accounting class at Lehigh for a day, an open house at Lehigh. With that I have business experience with classes and an internship at DeSales and Air Products. I have a lot of erudition and I am very ambitious and exuberant in everything that I do. I love to learn, I have little life after school since I love to learn and advance. However that does not mean that I don't like to go out. I can assimilate information many people give me. I am very philophropic, I volunteer heavily in my church and community. I love helping myself and other succeed. I am a leader and mentor.

OK I am being loquacious now so yeah. What do you think are my chances? Oh wait forgot I have an SAT score of 1650. My first was bad at 1400... I have an ACT score of 22. I am going to take the ACT and hopefully SAT again. I feel my scores are bringing me down, it does not show what kind of student I am.

You can certainly improve your SAT/ACT, since you have a 4.0 GPA. With proper prep I’m confident you could get 2200+/33+. If you do get this scores, you will be looking at a completely different league of schools, and you will have a great shot at Lehigh! Hope it helps :)

And the thing is, I only studied the week before because I was so busy with school work. But this summer I am writing my essays and studying on the tests. :-/ I know I can do so much better.

Okay I think your HS is probably not very competitive as you misspelled philanthropic and a few other higher-level words in your posts (this may happen in essays, etc. - be careful) and you will not be able to boost a 1400 to anything more than a low 2000 in my books. But you’ll get in anyway.

Thank you, and yeah my high school is not very rigorous, which is not very good. I however do try to learn outside of school. I try to expand my vocabulary but sometimes I sound bombastic. I am writing through my phone, so what I write sometimes does not get checked. So if I get my SAT score to be around 1900 and ACT around 30, will my chances be good? I have to fight the fact that about 70% of Lehigh students come from out of state schools and also that no one from my school has ever been accepted to Lehigh… I do not want to make my high school seem dumb, but the students can act more serious. Hopefully my high school’s profile doesnot affect how colleges look at me.
