Lehigh University Admissions Early Decision II Fall 2022

Ok, I’m making a thread for this since decisions should be out this week. Post here if you have any news. My son received an email on Friday, Feb 4th that decisions would be out within the week. He also received a weird email saying “something’s missing” and when he clicked the link in the email to update his information, all of his information was there and correct so he just hit submit and that was it. Good luck to all who are waiting!

Applied ED2 this year does anyone have an idea of how many accepted ED2 last year?
Common data set combines ED1 and 2 so hard to tell

Hi applied ED2 this year wondering if you son got off the waitlist or went to a different school

Hi, my son applied ED2 this year as well. Waiting is the tough part. I noticed there is not a lot of activity on these Lehigh boards and people don’t seem to respond. My daughter is at Penn State and my son was accepted there and Pitt back in November. Those message boards are very busy and someone always responds. Of course they are bigger schools, but it would be nice to have an answer on here. I figured you might like to know someone else is checking these boards too, hoping to find a glimmer of hope while waiting to hear the decisions. Good luck to you! ps I think we will probably hear next Friday, 2/11 because the last two years it was around that date on a Friday. Fingers crossed that maybe they move it up to tomorrow, 2/4:)

yeah, I have not found any active Lehigh boards. there is a subreddit for Lehigh (r/lehigh) but it is not much active either.
wishing your son good luck as well.

Yes based on prior years it looks like it will be 2/11 for ED II
Does anyone mind sharing stats?

anyone get any other updates??

My son’s GPA 4.0UW, 4.6W, 1340 SAT. It would be great to have some more stats on who was accepted last year. I know the stats are on their website, but it’s nice to see firsthand results. We haven’t heard anything since last email saying decisions would be within the week.

Those stats are excellent he has a great shot, good luck!

Good luck to you too!

My stats are 3.92UW GPA 5.2W GPA 1400 SAT (740 Math 660 RW)
EC’s aren’t great, my main one was tennis where I was on varsity three of my four years, captain my senior year, and won different awards.
Letters of Rec were from two teachers and my coach. I am not sure if they are good or not, I haven’t read them.

I am so nervous for decisions to come out. I really want to go here; however, if I don’t get enough aid and/or a scholarship my parents won’t let me go. I doubt I will get a scholarship so I am just hoping for the best.

Those are great stats! I think you have an excellent chance of getting in. We are on pins and needles waiting to hear. My son needs a good financial aid package as well otherwise it won’t be feasible. Good luck!

Thank you! Good luck to your son, he has amazing stats

is there any hope for kids that do not have a 4.2 + GPA?? but have all the other stats?

Of course you have hope! All high schools have a different way of calculating a GPA. From my school, for instance, our valedictorian will have about a 4.5ish at MOST. This is because students are not permitted to take AP classes their freshman year with only a VERY limited number available to sophomores. As a result, even though we have a weighted GPA on a 5.0 scale, there is no possible way to achieve a perfect 5.0 GPA. I know plenty of other schools that only offer two or three AP classes in TOTAL, so their stronger students may only place somewhere in the 3.9 range.

In my school’s Naviance, the middle 50% of accepted students have about a 4.0. However, I attend a highly ranked public school in northeast NJ, so that may have a huge impact on the ‘impressiveness’ of a 4.0 GPA at my school versus a 4.5 at another less rigorous school. I am not trying ‘brag’ about my school or sound like a snob, but from what I’ve seen, that’s how many admissions officers review an application: in context to the applicant’s school.

I hope this makes sense/helps clarify your question. It’s all very confusing, but if your GPA isn’t a 4.2+ you don’t necessarily have anything to worry about. It more so depends on your performance relative to your school. Your admissions decision will NOT be made solely based upon your GPA, but instead on many other factors including essays, extracurricular involvement, teacher recommendations, etc.

Take this all with a grain of salt, I am not an admissions officer but instead a student just like you! I wish you the best of luck, maybe we’ll see each other around campus next year!

@hoyasaxadude I agree. My GPA looks good with no context; however, compared to my school it is pretty low for the people that do get accepted to Lehigh University. For example, for unweighted GPA I am in the middle 50%, but for weighted I am right below the middle 50%.

Yep! I may have already mentioned this above, but at my school the average accepted GPA is anywhere from a 3.95-4.0 weighted. Mine is a 4.1 weighted after junior year, but I submitted my first semester grades which bring me to about a 4.2 weighted.

Have you heard anything else? I’m assuming we’ll hear back tomorrow?
