Lehigh University ED I Thread -- Class of 2021

@Natohunt How long do you think it will take for the acceptance letter to get to everyone’s mailboxes?

@studyhard13 it says it sent out today, but I guess it all depends where you live. My guess would be either tomorrow Saturday, or Monday!

anyone else having trouble with the admitted student portal?

@sofanico make sure you’re logging in with your new info. It’ll be your initials with some numbers.

If you want to get into your Admitted Student Portal, you first have to get username and make password through the little link that was included in the admissions note. Once you get this username, go back to the main login and use the username you just got (it should be like xyz123) and the password you made. Then, click around and there is a link for the official Class of 2021 Facebook group to join!

@studyhard13 It seems to be a bit glitchy. This is what worked for me. I cut and pasted portal.lehigh.edu in browser. At the top of this screen click “go here”. Next Screen log in and select “Banner” That will take you to a screen where there is a tab for Financial Aid. I’m not sure if there is additional financial/merit money coming in the letter. Good Luck!

@studyhard13 Or it’s actually easier to use the username and password that you create through the link in the admission note. That will take you directly to the portal and you will see “Banner” to the right of the screen. Click on “Banner” and you will find the Financial Aid. Hope this is useful.

Is the financial aid award different from the merit scholarships, because it doesn’t mention any of the merit based scholarships on my portal account but I don’t want to give up hope yet lol.

Has anyone figured out how to check financial aid awards? On the email it says to click on the “Banner link in the Connect Lehigh section,” but I can’t even find that section.

Also does anyone know the qualifications for the merit scholarships?

Some folks are looking at ED II vs RD, any stats those accepted or deferred can share?

Does anyone have any stats from admission? I’m trying to decide if going ED2 is worth my time. What was everyone’s GPA or ACT?

Ok, so I think the issue here is that you need to make a new account for accpeted students. Go on your student portal and try to see if you can find were it says to make a new account; once you have done so, you should be able to find the elusive banner that the financial aid awards are under.
@dmclark190

can someone recap greek life… its big there right

@Ineedtogetin17 sure. I was accepted ED1

GPA Weighted: 4.29 (school doesn’t have unweighted)
ACT: 29(superscore)

Accepted ED1 - STATUS: may not attend ($$$$$$$)
GPA: 3.95 UW - 4.2 W
SAT: 1480
Background: boarding school in NH (not from rich family though lol)

And btw, I know friends of mine who were rejected w higher stats than me, Lehigh has Tufts’ syndrome…

waltz25,

This is not a laughing matter.

http://www.lehigh.edu/undergradprospectus/apply/index.html

"Lehigh has two rounds of binding Early Decision where applicants commit to attend Lehigh if admitted. Thus, Early Decision students forfeit the ability to compare financial aid offers from other schools.

Students admitted through Early Decision I or II are required to withdraw all other applications filed at other institutions and must not initiate any new applications to other schools.

All Early Decision candidates are fully evaluated for standard need-based financial aid and merit scholarships during the Early Decision process. Tentative financial aid awards for those who qualify are sent at the time of admission to Lehigh (if required documents are received by the deadline)."

Did you not READ the information about what an ED involves??? You realize you took a spot from another student?

As a student with a rigorous schedule (7 APs), strong EC and recs (founded a club, varsity sport), a high ACT(34), but low GPA(3.72 w), would I have a good shot at admittance ED2?

WAL, I think you have an excellent chance for admittance. My son only had a 3.5 or 3.6 GPA. He ruined it by taking years of Spanish and getting “okay” grades. But, it was more important to him to stick with it and learn the skill than to protect his GPA. Lehigh’s admission counselors are known for taking the time to read each application. We have always felt Lehigh looks beyond the GPA and looks for the potential of the person!!! Your 34 on the ACT is fantastic! You sound like just the kind of student Lehigh is looking for! You have visited the campus and it is documented by the admission office? Demonstrated interest is a must. Best of luck to you and please keep us posted!!!
