tl;dr: Skip down to where I wrote tl;dr starts here ;)

Hey everyone I've been reading on this site for a while but I decided to finally post something. First off I applied ED 2 to Lehigh University and got in, so YESS! So I was thinking Lehigh would be this work hard, safe fun, kind of boring school but I decided I really wanted to go for a few reasons:
1. It is an amazing school
2. It is a school I probably shouldn't have gotten into (I slept for 4 years of high school instead of doing homework but I crushed the SATs ;D)
3. Everyone seems really friendly.
4. It is small so you get more 1 on 1 time with teachers.
5. Return on investment is great and they find you great jobs (connections ftw).

But then there's the worry. I felt that it wouldn't really have parties or only the select few would be partying. However recently I have found that it is actually KNOWN for being a party school, one of those "work hard, play hard" type of schools where you put down 10 (or 25 if you're me) shots and then go get an A+ in Calc. 3! So this is where my questions come in:

tl;dr starts here
1. Do you go to Lehigh?
2. Have you heard much about it if you you answered no to #1?
3. Is it really a party school?
4. Are there any raves or ragers or is it just the whole lets get in a basement and drink till we drop type scene?
5. Do you have any experiences you could share with me about Lehigh?

Honestly I'd love to hear any stories about Lehigh you have to share and maybe we can meet up there if you are a current student, I'll be coming in August! Please share anything you can, thank you ahead of time!

Anyone? I’m really curious to hear about other people’s experiences!

I attended a nearby LAC, but I would say Lehigh isn’t “known” for being a party school locally the way schools like Kutztown University are. They certainly enjoy themselves, but I’ve never heard any insane stories come out of it. Kutztown has the environment you’re describing, along with high levels of crime, rape, drugs, etc. that go along with a huge party university mentality. Lehigh has a much higher caliber of students who I would think can keep themselves together better than that and still have fun. Everyone I know who attended Lehigh have enjoyed it, and a few were partiers. Just don’t forget that you’re there for an education, too =)

When I got accepted to Lehigh University a few months ago, I attended an overnight event where I stayed over with a host and got to meet a lot of people there. Like you, I liked Lehigh for its size, academics, and friendliness, but I also questioned the party scene so I spent a lot of time exploring the campus especially at night. From what I observed and asked of the students there, Lehigh is definitely a really big party school.

I saw numerous kids that were into heavy partying/drinking and even some that were into drugs as well. While dancing at one of their parties, I even remember smelling marijuana, weed, and smoke. I heard the party scene was especially big if you were in Greek Life, which I believe makes up around 50% of the school. In my opinion though, most people there were very nice, so even if you’re not into partying they will respect you and there won’t be any pressure to party. In fact, I even met many people that weren’t into partying and preferred to stay dry and substance-free as well, and they were normally the coolest people I met too.
