A Lehigh University student is recovering from gunshot wounds today. Police say he was shot outside his home on Birkel Avenue in Bethlehem this weekend after he asked three men to be quiet. The student was treated and released from St. Luke's Hospital. No arrests have been made in the shooting.

The above was taken from the WFMZ-TV website, Channel 69.

Birkel Avenue is the new home to a bunch fo guys from the Alpha Chi Rho frat that were thrown out of their frat house last year because they fudged some paperwork on the amount of people they had living in their building. Now, they have to make sure that they don't die. I thought the only thing students had to worry about were grades, exams and papers, plus paying off a close to $40 thousand tuition bill.

The incident you are referring to happened July 29th not today nor yesterday.
While it is a tragic incident, this could happen anywhere at any time and didn't happen just because Lehigh enforced a rule with regard to their frats.
What happens if you fudge paperwork in the "real world"?

Living off-campus does pose problems at any urban university. Fortunately, this student was not seriously hurt. As laxmom points out, the incident has nothing to do with Lehigh's policy on frats.

The number of violent incidents in South Bethlehem pale in comparison to those around Columbia, UPenn, Harvard, and other urban campuses in more major cities. Still, students should be cautious. They are not attending a school in suburbia or in the country -- and they know it. The campus itself is as safe as any, but students need to take the obvious precautions at night and off-campus.
