Lehigh vs. Bucknell

I have narrowed my choices down to these two schools and was wondering if someone could compare their opinions on the two. I am also interested in revisiting these schools to get a better feeling of the atmospheres. However, I have not seen an overnight program for accepted students are Lehigh. Is there one?

There should be a pamplet in your acceptance folder about accepted students days. My D has also received e-mails about events and alumni receptions.

yeah they had those, but they didnt have overnight programs. like colgate has april visit days where you stay the night with a student there.

lysnyss06- What is your major ? Bucknell grad here (from long ago)-cousin Lehigh grad (long ago) whose D is attending next year.
I have made several visits to Bucknell the last couple years, but have not toured Lehigh, so can't compare the two campuses.

If you are a business/ engineering major, I would explore the opportunities available for internships and reseach at each school. I suspect the Lehigh Valley offers more.

Both campuses have strong Greek presence so ask about social experiences and options.

If you have clubs or other interests which school offers you more options.

Both are wonderful schools- nice choices to have. Congrats!

Aw thanks! I am not sure what i would like to do yet. Something in business i think, but not positive. I applied to the school of business at lehigh, but for some reason not at bucknell...

Lyssnyss06- a couple of years ago when our son considered Bucknell, we learned at an Open House, that due to the large enrollment of Business majors they were becoming VERY selective about transferring into the business program. DO check this out!
Might help with the decision------

Yeah, thats what a friend just told me. THanks!

Well, if you want to get into business or engineering, lehigh has better reputations in both areas. But if you are looking for liberal arts, then bucknell might be better for you. both very similar social life etc.. the only thing about bu is that it is kind of in the middle of no where, while lehigh is pretty close to both nyc and philadelphia
